I plan on adding an ssd drive in the near future because I like the speed and the technology of SSD drives.

I had to go with this one based on overall performance, and the fact that I still need an optical drive on occasion. Believe me, I wrestled for a while between this & a core 2 duo processor MacBook Air. The ports are all there including the new Thunderbolt port. Apps open up fast & this thing benchmarks as high and even a little higher than last year' s higher end models.

On the MacBook Pro I want the extended battery life that the integrated graphics offer. A true gamer is playing their heavy stuff on an xbox 360 or PS3 anyway. The graphics are just as good as they were before for everyday use. Don' t believe the negatives of the integrated HD 3000 integrated graphics by Intel. I hope I helped you!īelieve the hype when it comes to the new Sandy Bridge Core i5. I've personally never used a laptop for this long, so I don't know if this is a common problem with all laptops. The battery will last 2-3 years, but then you'll have to get it serviced. At first, the battery was decent, it lasted a good long while, but now even my computer's complaining that I need to get it serviced. If you're looking for portability, and a Mac, look into the Macbook Air, those are amazingly light. Walking around for more than a few minutes, or over an hour, will hurt your back- at least, for me it did. If you're looking to play computer games on your Macbook Pro, forget about it! The machine's capable of running these, but not many games are released for Mac, which limits your choices. As a travel buddy, the Macbook Pro has proven a pain- a pain in the back. That said, the Macbook Pro isn't as useful for anything else other than the arts.

Windows and Android dominate the business and engineering scene, but Apple can always be known for it's beautiful looking devices. The Macbook Pro 13-inch is everything you could ask for in a computer for the arts.
